Cordless Power Drill Product
Information
With home improvement becoming a do-it-yourself
thing these days, you should start getting to know the basic power tools. Power tools are available as corded or
cordless items. Cordless power tools allow you to work in different parts of the house without having to worry
about having a power socket nearby.
One cordless power tool
you won’t be able to do without is the cordless power drill. This power tool is an essential part of any home
improvement task. Modern cordless power drills come with dual function: drill and drive. This means you can use
your cordless power drill to drill holes in any wall or surface and later use the same power drill to drive the
screws into your furniture or walls.
Cordless power drills come with different amounts
of voltage ranging from 6 to 18 volts, and the higher the voltage the more torque-spinning strength. Cordless power
drills with higher voltage have enough power to drill holes through very thick walls and heavy flooring materials.
These drills are also bigger and heavier.
A cordless power drill can come with different
types of handles. The most common handle found on modern cordless power drills is the T-handle. This handle base
flares to protect against hand slipping. It is also the best type of handle for placing a battery. The T-handle
allows for a more balanced grip on the cordless power drill and since your hand is no longer “in the way”, a
cordless power drill with this handle can reach places other drills can’t.
Cordless power drills will
usually work at two different speeds. The slower speed is around 300 rpm and is used for driving screws. The faster
speed is usually around 800 rpm and is used for drilling. The faster or harder you use your cordless power drill,
the sooner your battery will need recharging. Recharging a cordless power drill battery can take anywhere from one
hour to all night.
